Kids get their own art show

Tacony Academy Charter School student artists will have their own show until the end of the week at the Starboard Side Gallery & Studio inside the Portside Art Center, 2531 E. Lehigh Ave. It’s a first-time exhibition for the charter school’s students, said art teacher Amber Ganzelli. There will be about 17 works by the high school’s fine art students, she said, and more than 50 works from the 8th grade art elective pupils. All works were created this school year, and most are two-dimensional. A few sculptures and photos along with mixed-media and ceramic pieces will be on display. Ganzelli reported Monday that there was a good turnout for the show’s opening last Friday. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There’s no admission, but it’s best to call 215–427–1514 before going. ••
